CTI and Associates, Inc. was selected as the prime contractor to the US Army Corps of Engineers - St. Louis District for the reconstruction of breaches through the earth levee. Project challenges included meeting a demanding schedule under winter conditions, construction underwater, and orchestrating earthwork logistics on a small, congested worksite. Utilizing its extensive experience in construction with geosynthetics and soils, CTI put state-of-the-art practices to optimal use in meeting these challenges and presented multiple construction alternatives to the USACE to save time, construction cost, and lifetime cost.
As prime contractor, CTI managed the excavation and reconstruction of landslides in the sides of the earth levee. CTI was instrumental in the implementation of a one-of-a-kind lime stabilization specification for the levee repairs. Using its quality control/quality assurance experience and collaborative team work ethic, CTI delivered value to the project through timely management of QC activities, partnership with the Corps and earthwork subcontractors, and proactive response to project challenges.
